ACFW’s First Impressions Contest—the ONLY ACFW writing contest that does NOT require a completed manuscript—is now accepting entries for the 2014 contest. Contest coordinator Kathleen Y’Barbo-Turner has lined up a stellar list of final round judges—all agents!
For only $15—pretty much three cups of coffee and a bagel—you can have your first five pages critiqued AND possibly go on to find a spot in front of one of our agents. Check out all the details here: http://www.acfw.com/first_impressions/
Deadline for entry is October 15.

I am a retired NYCP officer. The past experiences that I am now writing about are both incredibly sad and very funny. Many are truly the ‘side of police work seldom seen’. Some prove that ‘variety is not always the spice of life.’ Some occurrences were before I became a Christian and others after. I promise you that you will find many of them
to be ‘classics’. because they were true happenings. My wife and I live in central Florida. Is it possible for me to meet you somewhere at that location. Do you have an office or a writer from that part of the State. Also may I enter them in contests. Thank you for your time and thoughts.
Hi, Jerry — you are absolutely welcome at our meetings. Visitors may attend twice before deciding to join. We are primarily fiction writers, but many fiction techniques are useful for writing memoir. We look forward to seeing you!
